The festival this year is proud to welcome a fantastic selection of guests, including legendary filmmaker Stanley Kwan, Ying Liang, Shu Kei, Jun Li, Jennifer Yu and Fan Popo.

 

Stanley Kwan

CVF welcomes celebrated director Stanley Kwan, known for some of the most acclaimed and beloved Hong Kong films of all time, including Rouge, Center Stage, and many others.

Shu Kei is an award-winning writer, producer and director, known for his humanistic telling of queer stories on screen.

One of the foremost independent Chinese filmmakers working today comes to CVF for special screenings of his recent and key works.

Acclaimed as one of the most talented up and coming actresses from Hong Kong, Jennifer Yu has won numerous awards for her work.

Jun Li, one of Hong Kong’s most promising young directors, makes his feature debut with the transgender drama Tracey, the CVF 2019 Closing Gala.

Fan Popo

Fan Popo, one of the leading queer filmmakers and activists working in China, comes to CVF to present his latest work The Drum Tower.
