We are pleased to announce the first ever tour of the Chinese Visual Festival in Scotland. It will bring a diverse programme of new Chinese features and documentaries to Filmhouse in Edinburgh from 11th to 14th May.

Cheung King-wai and Wang Bing are already big names in the film world and Zhou Ziyang has made an impression at several film festivals this year with his debut feature Old Beast.

The films being showcased in Edinburgh resonate with each other by exposing family issues and dramas arising from economic and social changes in different parts of the Chinese-speaking world. By presenting the dark sides of humanity and society yet refraining from making moral judgments, they let us be the witnesses and our own judges of fellowmen’s actions in the fast-developing Chinese context.

For further information please visit Facebook or consult the Filmhouse brochure.

For updates follow us on Twitter or Wechat (CVF-Edinburgh).

Tickets will be on sale soon and can be purchased onsite, by phone (0131 228 2688) or on the Filmhouse website.
