Cutting edge fiction and documentary cinema from the Chinese language speaking world.

A carefully curated selection of works focusing on challenging contemporary issues including politics, urbanisation, patriotism, and the clash between modernity and tradition. Including documentaries, fiction and short films, CVF this year is screening works from both established directors and up and coming new talents, such as Du Haibin’s A Young Patriot and Li Luo’s Li Wen at East Lake, with director Jin Huaqing attending the festival to present his latest work The Tibetan Girl with performer Gongqiu Zhuoma.
